A good week, then the Christmas season reaches its peak again and we celebrate Christmas Eve with everything that goes with it. We enjoy good food with our family, argue about the juiciest piece of turkey and are happy – more or less – about accomplished presents. A few days later we celebrate with this year’s New Year’s Eve the farewell of a whole decade. But instead of torturing you with the obligatory review, as is often the case on such occasions, we at the MySolutions Group decided to tell you a little Christmas story about happiness, software, hardware and elves for the final blog post of 2019. We say goodbye to the Christmas blog break and wish you lots of fun with “Elves in Machining”.
Elves in Machining
A stressed-out machining employee suffered so much from overwork at work through no fault of his own that he was afraid to go home or even sleep for many consecutive days. All his colleagues were either ill or on vacation, so he just stayed all alone in the workshop and worked tirelessly on and on.
One day, however, he just got too tired and fell asleep at the CNC machine. The next morning, after he woke up and wanted to continue working as usual, his workpiece stood on a table, finished and ready for delivery. The man was amazed and didn’t know what to say. He took the workpiece in his hand to take a closer look. It was so neatly made that it did not contain a single flaw. Now that the man had done his job well in advance, he was ready to take another nap to make up for the often-lost sleep. So he prepared his next workpiece for the CNC machine and the next morning he went to work with fresh courage. But that wasn’t even necessary, because when he got up, this part was already finished.
The next morning he found not only one, but even two finished workpieces and so it went on and on. What he prepared in the evening was ready in the morning, so that he could soon return to his wife and children in the evening.
Now it happened that one evening, just before Christmas, the man before going to bed said to his wife: “What do you think if we stay up late into the night to see who gives us this helping hand? The woman liked the idea and they went over to the factory, hiding in a corner and lurking.
When it was midnight, two little figures came, sat down at the CNC machine and started working. They didn’t stop until everything was done, put the finished pieces on the table and disappeared again.
The next morning the woman said to her husband, “The little men helped us so much. We have to show that we are grateful for it. They just walk through the cold, have nothing on, it must be cold for them. I will make them small shirts and coats and vests and trousers and knit them both a pair of stockings.”
When everything was ready the next evening, the man put all the presents together on the table instead of a few pieces to be worked on and hid to see how the little men would behave. At midnight they came back in and wanted to get to work immediately. However, they found nothing to work with, only the pretty little clothes. Their astonishment quickly gave way to excessive joy. They dressed hastily while singing:
“We are the MySolutions elves and so beautiful to look at, why should we work on the CNC milling machine any longer now?” Then they danced and hopped and jumped over chairs and benches before moving their celebration outside into the open air. Henceforth, they didn’t come to work in the workshop anymore, but they left a package to the machining employee containing the finest ALL-IN-ONE software for MySolutions Group manufacturing operations. From that time on everything went well, all orders were completed on time and there was never again the need for spontaneous overtime. And if the machining employee has not died yet…
… then he still tells his grandchildren the story of the helpful MySolutions Christmas Elves which – if you want to believe rumours – have already worked wonders in other areas of industry.
The MySolutions Group wishes everyone a wonderful Christmas season and a Happy New Year 2020! We will be back for you from 01/06/2020 with new blog topics!
See you soon.
